How Long Is Your Wafid (GAMCA) Medical Valid?
Your Wafid medical report is not valid forever. Find out exactly how long it lasts for Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain — and what to do if it expires.
One of the most common questions we receive: "My Wafid (GAMCA) medical is done — how long do I have before it expires?" The answer matters because if your visa processing takes too long and the report expires, you may need to repeat the entire medical.
Standard Validity: 3 Months
For most GCC countries, the Wafid medical report is valid for 3 months (90 days) from the date of the test. This applies to Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain for the majority of visa categories.
Country-Specific Notes
- Saudi Arabia: 3 months. Your medical result is linked to your Iqama application — ensure your visa is stamped before expiry.
- UAE: 3 months. Results must be submitted before visa stamping; the Emirates ID process begins only after a valid medical.
- Qatar: 3 months. Qatar Visa Centre (QVC) requires a fresh medical if more than 3 months have passed since testing.
- Kuwait: 3 months. Unfit results in Kuwait are often final for the same visa category — no re-entry possible under that role.
- Oman: 3 months. Oman Residence Card (RC) issuance requires a valid medical on file.
- Bahrain: 3 months. CPR (Central Population Registry) registration will not proceed with an expired medical.
What If My Medical Expires Before My Visa Is Stamped?
You'll need to repeat the full Wafid medical from scratch. There is no partial renewal or extension. This is why timing your medical correctly relative to your visa processing timeline is critical.
Tips to Avoid Expiry Issues
- Don't book your medical too early — wait until your visa application is ready to move forward.
- If your employer/agent has a history of delays, factor 2–4 weeks of buffer into your timeline.
- Check the Wafid portal for your exact report date and set a calendar reminder for the 2-month mark.
- If you're close to expiry, alert your sponsor/employer immediately.
Does "Fit" Mean the Report Is Valid?
Yes — a "Fit" result with a date within the last 3 months is a valid report. "Unfit" and "Retest" results have their own processes, covered in our separate guide.
